Winter in July
On Saturday, July 18th, the Phoenix Zoo is gearing up for an epic winter storm! Over 60 tons of snow is being shipped into the several animal exhibits, as well as different areas for the guests to enjoy. Winter in July is a must see experience for people of all ages, so make sure to mark your calendars.
Along with the snow that will be shipped in, Reba the Asian elephant will get to enjoy her yearly fire hose shower that the crowd will enjoy just as much as Reba does! There will be many activities to enjoy throughout the event, including:
- 25 tons of snow for guests to enjoy, including chilly activities like the Toddler Snow Pile and Snowball Target Area.
- Yakulla Caverns and Leapin’ Lagoon water play area for your chance to get wet.
- DJ Rockin’ Rob playing live music all day long to enjoy.
- Craft station with your chance to make your very own springy snake.
- A chance to meet with Firefighters from the Phoenix Fire Department.
- Meet the authors of Zoology for Kids and participate in a special Sonoran Desert craft activity.
- The chance to get up close with native Arizona rattlesnakes and chat with their zookeepers to learn more about them.
