Living in Arizona allows you to enjoy the beautiful desert landscape and warm temperatures. Now that the weather is cooling down for fall, it is the perfect time to appreciate all the fun and exciting October events in the local Phoenix community.
If you love tacos, which most people do, make sure to come out and enjoy the Arizona Taco Festival this weekend, October 18th and 19th at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick! All of the fun starts at 11 am and goes until 7 pm each day. There will be more than 50 teams that will be cooking and serving specialty tacos in four different categories, chicken, pork, beef, and seafood. They will also be cooking delicious side dishes, all for the chance to win cash prizes and bragging rights. Attendees will be allowed to vote for their favorite taco in the People’s Choice Competition.
The 130th Arizona State Fair is going on now until November 2nd, and is an event you will not want to miss. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the fair has something for every member of your family. Along with the hundreds of mechanical rides that you can enjoy for an extra fee, there will be a variety of free entertainment, including a petting zoo, rodeos, science exhibits, and more. There are also many different competitions at the fair, including eating and cooking contests, and even a texting contest for the younger crowd!
