Phocus Companies Supports Feed My Starving Children

September 6, 2013Local EventsBailey Helton

The fact that children should not go hungry is something few people would argue, however fewer people take the time and effort to do something about it. But in 1987, a businessman in Minnesota took the issue of childhood hungry seriously when he developed the non-profit organization Feed My Starving Children.

Today, volunteers from five years old and up volunteer at FMSC locations throughout Minnesota, Illinois, and in Tempe, AZ. Working cooperatively, volunteers package real, nutritious food that can be sent overseas to developing countries where children often do not get to eat what they should. The organization is held in high regard for its effectiveness and integrity, and has earned high marks from the independent evaluation firm, Excellence in Giving, used by other large non-profits.

Recently, Phocus Companies volunteered at an event for Feed My Starving Children. In one hour Phocus was able to pack 22 boxes which is 4,752 meals. All together volunteers packed enough food to feed 700 children for an entire year which consists of over 272,000 meals that were packed by over 1200 volunteers.

Since Feed My Starving Children sees to it that those less fortunate get what they need, it was only natural for Phocus Companies in Phoenix, Arizona to lend their support to this non-profit organization. As an insurance matching broker Phocus Companies is also dedicated to seeing that others are protected from disaster large and small by seeing that individuals are matched with the best policies for them.
