April is National Autism Awareness Month. There are several events of interest in the Phoenix area:
Putting the Autism Puzzle Piece Together, a seminar, sponsored by Autism Ambassadors. Saturday, April 20, 10am – 3 p.m. at Covenant of Grace Christian Fellowship, 906 W. Peoria Ave., Phoenix.
A seminar on Autism and Bullying takes place Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 at the Scottsdale Public Library, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale. Sponsored by the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center.
An Art Jam Social will provide a space for families and educators involved in Autism to meet and mingle. It’s presented by SEEDS for Autism on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1345 W. McKinley Road, Phoenix.
The first ever Zoowalk for Autism Research takes place in October, but supporters can get a taste (literally) at the Pajamas & Pancakes Zoowalk for Autism Research Kick Off. It takes place on Sunday, April 28, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at My AZ Kitchen, 3821 E. Baseline Rd. #J140 in Gilbert.
